    Optimizing Suzuki Lean Burn

    Suzuki's Lean Burn Control System is fantastic for fuel economy, but the factory parameters for when it engages and disengages are often very narrow. If you are pushing a heavy offshore hull or running against the tide, the ECU frequently drops out of Lean Burn mode and dumps excess fuel to maintain speed. This negates the primary benefit of the technology precisely when you need it most on long offshore runs.

    Our Suzuki ECU remap expands the operational window of the Lean Burn system. We adjust the ignition timing and fuel maps so your engine can maintain its most efficient state under a wider variety of loads. This means you burn less fuel at your typical cruising RPM, significantly extending your offshore range and saving you money every time you hit the water.

    Furthermore, by optimizing the transition in and out of Lean Burn mode, we ensure that the engine runs smoother at part-throttle. The factory transition can sometimes feel abrupt, but our custom calibration smooths out the power delivery, resulting in a much more refined cruising experience.

    Curing the Suzuki 'Bog'

    A common complaint among Suzuki owners, particularly with the 4-cylinder models (DF115-DF200), is a noticeable hesitation or 'bog' when trying to get on the plane quickly. This is a result of conservative factory throttle mapping and torque management protocols that delay power delivery to protect the drivetrain from sudden shocks.

    We completely rewrite these electronic throttle maps. By matching the throttle butterfly opening rate to your physical hand movement and enriching the acceleration fuelling, we eliminate the bog. The engine responds instantly, providing the grunt needed to lift heavy fiberglass hulls out of the water quickly and safely. This instant response is crucial for navigating tricky bar crossings or when you need immediate power to maneuver.

    The improved holeshot also means you don't have to work the engine as hard to get on the plane, which reduces overall strain on the outboard and improves fuel efficiency during acceleration.

    Unlocking the Big Blocks

    Suzuki's V6 engines (DF225, DF250, DF300) are massive 4.0L blocks capable of producing incredible torque. Just like other manufacturers, Suzuki restricts the lower-horsepower models via software. If you own a DF225 or DF250, our tuning can safely unlock the power of the DF300, giving you a massive performance upgrade without the expense of repowering.

    Furthermore, we can safely raise the rev limiter on these big blocks. Suzuki's factory limiters are notoriously strict. By providing a few hundred extra RPM of headroom, we allow you to prop the boat perfectly for maximum top speed without constantly hitting the 'wall' when the boat is running light. This ensures you get the absolute maximum performance out of your hull.
