Optimizing the VTEC Crossover
Honda's VTEC system is designed to provide excellent low-end torque on one cam profile, and high-RPM horsepower on a more aggressive cam profile. The transition between these two profiles is controlled entirely by the ECU.
In factory trim, the VTEC crossover can sometimes feel abrupt or occur at an RPM that isn't ideal for heavy marine applications. Our tuning smooths out this transition by adjusting the fuel and ignition maps around the crossover point. We ensure that when VTEC engages, you get a seamless, powerful surge of acceleration without any hesitation.
